There are three stages in VPSC’s review process, which only applies to reviews requested by public service body employees.
VPSC will consider a request and decide whether:
- to review the matter
- refer the employee to another more suitable body
- determine that a review is not warranted and decline to review the matter (in accordance with regulation 10(5) of the Public Administration (Review of Actions) Regulations 2015)
If VPSC accepts the review request, it will request information from the employer and make a finding based on all available information.
VPSC will advise both parties of the outcome of its review, including its findings and any recommendations.
Time limits that apply to review requests:
The Regulations provide time limits for public service employees to lodge a review request with VPSC (see regulations 7(2) and 8(2)).
