Earlier this year, our Commissioner issued a revised set of Employment Standards, including 2 new standards for human rights and career public service.
The full set of the 6 Standards for the Application of the Public Sector Employment Principles 2017 are:
- Fair and Reasonable Treatment
- Merit in Employment
- Equal Employment Opportunity
- Human Rights
- Reasonable Avenue of redress
- Career Public Service
Together the standards and principles help shape the type of working environment Public Sector organisations offer their employees. They set the right conditions for productive and harmonious working relationships by ensuring that employees are treated well, have career opportunities and can safely raise their concerns.
Effective 1 February 2017, the standards are binding on all Victorian public sector organisations and their employees.
