VPSC celebrated International Women’s Day with a visit from Entsar Hamid. Entsar was generous enough to share with us some of her experiences in the VPS, reflecting on her start in public service as a young mother who had just arrived in Australia.

Entsar has held roles in the Victorian Public service for the last 10 years. Entsar is motivated by building strong culture, capacity and capability, and ensuring talent is supported to deliver excellence.

A member of IPAA, she is also a mentor with Leadership Victoria and the Victorian Endowment for Science, Knowledge and Innovation (VESKI), and a qualified Mediator. Entsar provides mentees with advice and assists them to increase confidence and build networks. She is also the Co-Founding member of the Steering Committee for the Inaugural African Diaspora Women’s Summit.

The Commission enjoyed hearing of her challenges and successes as an emerging woman in the VPS.
