The VPSC manages a suite of online resources to promote, support, attract and recruit people to a career with the Victorian Government.
The Careers Website
On the Careers website you’ll find all you need to know about the rewarding government jobs and careers available within the Victorian Government in Australia.
The website functions as the public-facing end of the Victorian Government eRecruitment system, where vacant positions are advertised by subscribing departments and agencies. But the Careers website is so much more than a job board.
The website was developed to promote a career in public administration and to improve the candidate experience when looking for Victorian public sector jobs. It includes information on the many features of public sector employment, from benefits and conditions to occupation profiles. It even has tips for writing better applications.
The website provides:
- information about each department or agency
- links to sector organisations
- information about programs and opportunities you may offer, including the Aboriginal Employment Strategy, youth and student initiatives
- support for people with a disability.
Careers is one of the most visited Victorian Government websites, attracting more than one million visitors per year. It offers a range of promotional opportunities for an organisation, much more than just your advertisements.
Get on Board
The latest addition to the Victorian Government Careers suite of online resources is a website for public sector board recruitment, Get on Board.
Get on Board facilitates an online application process for public sector board appointments. It promotes board vacancies to a wide ranging pool of candidates, reducing complexity and attracting the very best candidates to serve on boards, ranging from alpine management boards to hospitals.
Get on Board currently advertises board vacancies managed by pilot agencies trialling the system, with a wider roll-out to additional portfolios expected by early 2016.
