There are a range of pathways to working in the Victorian public sector for people with disability. This includes traineeships, the graduate recruitment and development scheme (VPS GRADS), and any advertised role.
Adjustments and support will be provided throughout the whole process from the application stage to starting in the workplace, and there is ongoing support throughout your career.

Careers.Vic
The Careers.Vic website is the official Victorian Government search portal for public sector jobs and career opportunities. You can search jobs in the Public Service departments and agencies, hospitals and health services, schools, and many public entity employers such as Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria.

VPS GRADS
GRADS is the Victorian Public Service’s 12-month development program for graduate recruits. In March 2019 a Disability Pathway to the GRADS will be launched. GRADS will give you the foundation skills and knowledge to succeed before taking up an ongoing role in your second year of employment.
The GRADS tailored learning and development program will set you up with core technical and soft skills over your first year. You’ll develop skills in project management, data analysis, communication, problem solving, and leadership. GRADS is designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to thrive as a public sector employee.
You’ll also gain an understanding of government-related subject matter – in a wide variety of government functions and projects across Victoria so you can apply what you learn in the work environment.

Disability Action Plans
The State plans that underpin our efforts to increase meaningful employment outcomes for people with disability are:

Employment Assistance Fund (EAF)
This federal government assistance program provides financial assistance to purchase work related modifications for people with disability. These can include workplace adjustments, adaptive equipment, Auslan interpreting, and training.
