National Agreement on Closing the Gap

The National Agreement on Closing the Gap seeks to enable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and governments to work together to overcome the inequality experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and achieve life outcomes equal to all Australians.

The National Agreement was developed in partnership between the Australian and state governments and the Coalition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peak Organisations.

The Agreement has 19 national socio-economic targets across 17 socio-economic outcome areas. The Productivity Commission regularly updates its dashboard on progress towards the targets.
