‘Building an inclusive board culture’ is a new program for Victorian public sector board members, offered by the Victorian Public Sector Commission.

The program aims to increase retention and meaningful participation of board members from diverse backgrounds, as well as to improve the experience of serving board members from diverse backgrounds.

Delivered by Diversity Partners, the program is facilitated by its founder and CEO Dr Katie Spearritt, and Senior Consultant Tarang Chawla.

The program will cover:

  • prioritising diversity and inclusion: why it’s important for boards
  • understanding intersectionality and equity
  • characteristics of inclusive workplace cultures
  • exploring biases and subtle acts of exclusion
  • signature strengths of inclusive leaders
  • inclusive meetings and interactions
  • inclusive leadership shadow
  • inclusive recruitment.

All Victorian public sector board members are encouraged to take this course during their term.
