When your staff don’t feel like they have a good work-life balance, they may:
- become irritable, angry or distracted while working
- have high levels of stress that affect their ability to perform
- have increased levels of fatigue
- take time off to deal with other concerns in their life
Tips to use
Be flexible in the workplace with both hours and ways of working.
Increase collaboration in remote settings to replace the physical office experience.
Have a lot more informal check-ins to make up for the lack of physicality.
Be aware of the positives, like the lack of commute.
But also be aware of the negatives, like staff finding it harder to ‘switch off’.
Encourage staff to take leave, even if working at home, to help them switch off.
